OPD Frankfurt- Ostheim letter dated 3.11.23. this being one day later than the recorded last known date of use for Michel 310 from OPD Frankfurt. Correct MiF rate applied. Such overlapping frankings are also known as "tappeten frankatur" (carpet tile franking).

Postage Due/ Nachporto Second weight letter from Cottbus, OPD Stettin - Berlin dated 2.11.23. with MiF totalling 128 Million Marks, thus a shortfall of 12 Million Marks. The insufficient postage applied was spotted at the sorting office and they applied a "Porto" (postage due) cancel. From the sender the shortfall plus a 50% surcharge for the missing amount was collected. Sender paid the extra fees of 18 Million Marks, (12 Million + 50%) and this was noted by handwritten figures in blue crayon.
